Introduces various technologies used for the purposes of condition monitoring in order to enable the application of Predictive Maintenance Techniques. The course will present the basic theories and methodologies of vibration analysis, infrared imaging, tribology (oil analysis), ultrasonic detection, and motor current signature analysis. The advantages, disadvantages, typical applications, and costs of each technology will be discussed as they pertain to industrial environments. This course will give an understanding of the typical tools and other resources required in order to establish a Predictive Maintenance Program. Expected ROI will also be reviewed for each technology. The student will demonstrate their knowledge by reviewing additional case studies in a laboratory setting.
